thank-you“Let us rise up and be thankful,
for if we didn’t learn a lot today,
at least we learned a little,
and if we didn’t learn a little,
at least we didn’t get sick,
and if we got sick,
at least we didn’t die;
so, let us all be thankful.”
- Buddha

As an avid student of Life, I never know when my next teacher is going to show up. Yesterday, my teacher appeared in the form of an adorable, brilliant, 2-year-old boy that I encountered at the post office.

As I stood in line to post some mail, I couldn’t help but notice this sweet little guy ahead of me, waiting patiently with his dad. It was clear that this amazing boy had just recently learned how to speak, and after overhearing some new words he was happily practicing them over and over again like a parrot. His faithful audience included me plus one – the teddy bear he held in his hands.

“Thank you… no problem!! Thank you… no problem!! Thank you… no problem!!” he said eagerly to the bear, with great determination. I began to smile as I realized that this innocent little guy was effortlessly broadcasting two of the greatest secrets in Life.

The Power of  “Thank You”

Unleashing the power of gratitude will propel you onto a fast track from despair to hope. Saying “thank you” on a daily basis transforms your life, because it changes the energetic frequency of your entire being. People who live in gratitude attract more people, places, and situations in Life to be grateful for. People with “frustrated” vibes attract situations that perpetuate their frustration. “There’s nothing more frustrating than a frustrated metaphysician!”

Maintaining gratitude is not always easy, especially if it’s a new practice. It can take discipline to train yourself to look for the good in life, but it’s worth the results. A wonderful step in the right direction is to find things that you are grateful for on a daily basis, and write them down. I keep my gratitude journal by my bed, and write in it before I go to sleep. I like The Secret Gratitude Journal by Rhonda Byrne because it has a space to make note of all the things that you are grateful for now, and all the things that are coming to you in your future.

The Power of “No Problem!”

Without the power of gratitude it’s easy to become stuck in your problems. By remaining preoccupied with problems, you perpetuate them. If you choose to stay frustrated, you’ll experience difficulty in making positive changes because frustration is not on the same wavelength as the life you desire to create.

Your problems will only begin to dissolve when you realize that problems don’t exist. All situations in life emerge as a mirror to assist you in healing yourself and your life from the inside out. “Problems” are gifts from the Universe, brought into your awareness to help you find the thoughts and emotions that are out of alignment with your true nature. When you perceive problems in this new light of awareness, you can use them as tools to locate “blips” in your thought patterns. Change your thoughts, change your life… no problem.

The Power of Giving Up the Struggle

If your life isn’t working, examine the possibility that you are struggling against it. Often times the only change that’s required, is to cease your struggle and quit paddling upstream. When you accept yourself where you are, not only are there no problems, but you’ll also find a whole lot more to be grateful for.
